ISSUES

  • Citizens have lost trust in our government. Politicians are too focused on their own agendas, and people feel unheard and left behind. I’m working to restore faith in our government by listening to the people that I’ve been elected to represent. Throughout my tenure as Mayor of Indian Rocks Beach, I have always been sensitive to the needs of our residents and have made listening to them a top priority by hosting town halls and meetings - I have an open door policy so that constituents can come to me with their concerns and bring forward topics that impact all of us. When people feel heard by their elected leaders, we can begin to tackle the issues our community faces.

  • Everyone that lives and works in Pinellas County should have access to affordable housing. Housing is one of the greatest issues impacting Pinellas County. It is a living necessity and a basic human right. As the price of rent increases it is harder for first responders, graduates, and lower socio economic residents to retain home ownership or maintain rent. I will aggressively work towards keeping seniors in their homes.

Pinellas County is working on adding incentives to keep more seniors and homeowners from being priced out of Pinellas County, and I support these measures.

  • I will continue to be a government advocate for stronger infrastructure funding for road repavement, sewer updates, and congestion issues. It is vital to continue the plan set forth by Pinellas County to refurbish our aging infrastructure.

    1. Beach renourishment has been a pivotal issue for Pinellas County, and as Commissioner, I will work with nonprofits, businesses, and other government agencies to ensure we have a healthy beach environment - which is so important to all who live and visit Pinellas County.

    2. Clean water should always be a top priority for Pinellas County. We need to work with stakeholders to ensure every single resident has access to clean and safe drinking water.

  • Maintaining a high level of public safety is crucial to the quality of life in Pinellas County. That includes being ready for natural disasters like hurricanes. I'm certified in hurricane preparedness and will work to ensure that our community is as safe as possible during hurricane season.

  • Today, 1 in 36 children are diagnosed with Autism. Access to resources for children, their families, and providing information, as well as safety precautions are needed for autism awareness. These initiatives are crucial to the quality of life of Pinellas County Special Needs Families.
